Players also navigate spaceships to travel through space, to explore planets and to gather resources to survive. Thanks to the creative survival modes, there’s no limit to what you can build, use and explore. Space Engineers is a realistic 3D physics engine: everything in the game can be assembled, taken apart, damaged, and destroyed.

The game can be played in single-player or multiplayer mode.

Space Engineers uses a game engine based on the realistic volumetric engine VRAGE 2.0, built internally.
